      I John House of the Chappell of Asbrook and in the Parish of Ampney St Mary in the County of Gloucester Yeoman being of good and perfect remembrance praise and thanks be given to Allmighty God Doe make constitute and ordaine this my Will and Testament in and forme following January the Twenty nineth One thousand six hundred and eighty five Inprimis I bequeath my soule into the hands of Allmighty God my Maker hopeing that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgivenesse of all my sins and my body to be buryed in Christian buryall at the discretion of my Executors hereafter nominated Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Richard House the ground that is called Willcox and the ground next to Mathis is house and over Copthill and Lower Copthill and the free land ground joyning to Willcox and all that during of his life and afterwards to his Brother William House Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne William House xxxx Meade and Colverhille during of his life Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne John House the Yarde of Freeland which was bought of Richard Cull lying in the parish of Ampney Mary Item I
      give and bequeath unto my Daughter Edith House Two hundred pounds if she doth live and leade her life
      according to her Friends advice and to be paid by my sonne John House when she doth come of age a bedd and
      bedding belonging unto it and halfe a dozen of napkins and the chest and cupboard in the backwards loft and two platters Item I give unto my sonne Richard thirty sheep and one horse and three Beast and a ould carte and
      wheels and a double plow and one harrow and one pot and one roller standing in the backwards loft and the
      maultmill in the kitchin and the little xxxx and two platters and a roull and the bed which you ly on and all as doe
      belong to it and one chaire in the hall Item I give unto my sonne William House the Bedstedd in the chamber and the belonging to it after his Mother and one coffer and chest in the Chamber and one drove of sheep and three Beast and Tweneth pounds to be paid one yeare after my decease Item I give unto my sonne John House one half of the ground called Wanbury and Wanburn after mante Hinton decease during of John xxxx is life which I hope
      purchase of Robert Pledwell Esq Item I give unto my Grandsonne John Howse sonne of Richard House Tenne pounds to be paid in two yeares after my decease and to be put forth to his best advantage Item I give and bequeath Three pounds to the poore to remain for a stock forever and the use to be paid upon Goodfriday Item I give to my Wife Elinor House and my sonne John a Maultmill one Cisterne one great chest one Tableboard and frame to be used between you during my wifes life and afterwards to remaine to my sonne John Item my will is and I doe nominate my wife Ellinor House and my son John House to be my joynt Executors of all my goods and cattels and I doe desire my Brother Richard House and my Kinsman John Addams to be Overseers of this my Will to see it performed accordingly and I doe give them five shillings apiece Item I give to my Shepherd John Harbut Twenty shillings to be paid one year after my decease John House Signed sealed published and declared in the
