      In the Name of God Amen the thirtieth day of June in the year of our Lord 1736 I Suckling Howse of Hemsby in the County of Norfolk husbandman and being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore taking into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all mankind to die Do make and ordain this my last will and testament (that is to say) principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my body recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and devout manner at the direction of my executor nothing doubting but at the general All ………….. the mighty power of God and as to ... such worldly ... It hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and ….. I give will and devise unto John Howse my beloved brother of Hickling in the County of Norfolk cordwainer the sum of seven pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid him within six months after my decease by my executor hereafter named but if .... John my brother should depart this life before the aforesaid legacy of seven pounds shall become due and payable then in such a case my mind and will is that the said seven pounds shall be equally divided amongst the children of the aforesaid John Howse my brother part shares alike.
      Item I give and bequeath unto Benjamin Howse Blacksmith my kinsman son of Benjamin Howse late of Catfield ... the sum of three pounds and four shillings of lawful money to be paid him within six months after my decease by my executors hereafter named. I give and bequeath unto Mary the wife of William Blomfield of Catfield in the County of Norfolk Blacksmith and sister to the above mentioned Benjamin Howse my kinsman the sum of three pounds and four shillings of the like lawful money of Great Britain to be paid her within six months after my decease by my executor hereafter mentioned and if it should happen that either him or her shall depart this life before the …. Shall be due then the said whole sum of ….. shall be paid to him or her which shall be then living at the time of payment as above mentioned. Item I give and bequeath unto William Martins son of William Martins of Hemsby in the said County husbandsman the sum of five pounds of lawful money to be paid by my executor within six months after my decease into the hands of Robert Cole of Hemsby aforesaid to be kept by him or his heirs executors or administrator until the said William Martins the son shall make choice of a trade but if he be bound to no trade the said Robert Cole his heirs executors or administrator shall keep the five pounds until the said William the son shall attain the age of twenty one years and then to be paid the said William the son without any interest for the same but if the said William the son should die the five pounds shall be paid to his brothers or sisters who shall be then living at the age of twenty one years. Item I do make and ordain William Martins of Hemsby husbandsman sole executor of this my last will and testament unto whom I give and bequeath all and every my goods and chattels ready money and Bonds … shall be standing out and unpaid at the time of my decease requiring him in the first place to pay out thereof all such debts as I shall justly owe at the time of my decease my funeral charges and the charges of the probate of this my will and likewise all the above mentioned legacies to the persons herein by moneys at the times above mentioned In witness whereof Unto this my last will and testament contained in one sheet of paper. I the said Suckling Howse have set my hand and seal dated the day and year first written above. The mark of Suckling Howse signed sealed ….
