Just possible that there was another child to this marriage: Maud, also living with grandmother Nichols in 1901, Maud's birth registered Q2 1894 which means she might have been born as early as mid-February. But, mother apparently died in late 1893

Probate: Date: 1557 Place: Norfolk Archdeaconry Court Note: George's will
Nfk. Arch. Ct. 1557. 200 Beales Dated 12th April 1557. George Howes of
Brandon juxta Barnham Brome. Elizabeth his wife to have house and land in
Brandon Parva and Welbourne both free and bond for her life, to bring up his
childen and pay debts and legacies. To son Nicholas at his age 21, 4 pounds. To
daughter Rose, £6.13s.4d. 12 months after Nicholas is paid. To daughter Anne
£6.13s.4d. time of payment given. To daughter Martha £6.13s.4d. time of
payment given. Nicholas to have the house and land after the death of his
mother, he to pay any debts and lagacies unpaid at her death. If Nicholas dies
without heirs remainder to son Thomas and likewise remainder to son Richard.
Godchildren to have 4d. each. Residue to Elizabeth who is made executrix.
Supervisors John Bunne of Brandon, Thomas Utting of Raynell (Runhall).

George’s widow Elizabeth also made a will, g.v. Individual Note: (According to
Beryl Chapman) Son of Thomas and Catherine Howes of Little Brandon.
Mentioned in his father's will, 1554, when he was to pay his sister Audrey
£6.13s.4d. George was given his father's copyhold land in Brandon on the
condition that he allowed his mother to remain in it during her lifetime. If he
failed then his brother Anthony was to have the property. George was dead
when his mother Catherine made her will in 1560, but she did mention
Elizabeth, late the wife of George and left to every child of George 12d.
