Just possible that there was another child to this marriage: Maud, also living with grandmother Nichols in 1901, Maud's birth registered Q2 1894 which means she might have been born as early as mid-February. But, mother apparently died in late 1893

George’s widow Elizabeth also made a will, g.v. Individual Note: (According to
Beryl Chapman) Son of Thomas and Catherine Howes of Little Brandon.
Mentioned in his father's will, 1554, when he was to pay his sister Audrey
£6.13s.4d. George was given his father's copyhold land in Brandon on the
condition that he allowed his mother to remain in it during her lifetime. If he
failed then his brother Anthony was to have the property. George was dead
when his mother Catherine made her will in 1560, but she did mention
Elizabeth, late the wife of George and left to every child of George 12d.
Anthony, George's brother, left to every child of George 6s.8d.
