Thanks to the Guild of One-Name Studies, we received details of a marriage between an Alfred Bennett and an Elizabeth House in Kingston in 1877. Alfred was a plasterer aged 34 and Mrs House (she was a widow) was aged 32 and the daughter of a John Allar/Allarn, a farmer. Details on Elizabeth are here: http://howesfamilies.com/getperson.php? ... ee=Onename. I cannot see anything relevant from the witness names at the marriage.
I can see from prior censuses that Alfred hailed from Tonbridge, Kent. However, I can't find him or her in subsequent censuses and neither can I find the name of her prior husband. Can you?
