Thomas Smart the father and my son in law. Aforesaid Richard Howse my godson. My godson Thomas Kilby. (?). My brother John Howse. Poore of the parish. My beloved wife Susannah Howse. He also leaves an instruction “I desire that my wife will not plough up any ancient meadows or pasture that have not been ploughed since I have been owner thereof”.
