Probate:Date: 1644 Place: Norfolk Archdeaconry Courtote: Anthony's will is
indexed as Anthony Howse of Wymondham. Nfk. Arch. Ct. 1644. W56. Dated 14th December 1644. Described as of Little Brandon House in which he dwells
to Alice his wife and after her decease to her two daughters ---(unreadable, but now known to be Sarah) and Thomasin. These described as his youngest
children. If they die then to go equally to his other children which he had by his
first wife. Mentions Robert his eldest son. Mentions Anthony his second son.
Mentions his two eldest daughters Ann and Elizabeth. His 7 acre close to be
sold by Anthony and the money to be divided between them. His two eldest
daughters to have 4 acre close which lies at the end of home close, to be sold
and the money divided between them. Gives Anthony 4 acre close which lies
next to Mr Michael Chapman's to be sold and the money used to pay his debts
and expenses. If Robert his eldest son causes trouble, sues or molests his now
wife or his executor by any unlawful suit or molestation then he to be
dispossessed of what has been bequeathed to him. Anthony made his mark.

1644/5. Administration to son Anthony.
Individual Note: (According to Beryl Chapman) Son of Thomas Howes of Little
Brandon and grandson of Joan Howse, will 1593, who left him 7 acres and 1
rood of land in Little Brandon. It is estimated that Anthony was not yet 14
years old in 1593, born therefore about 1580. The name of Anthony's first wife
was Amy. She was buried at Wymondham on 16th March 1633. Anthony
Howes married (2) at St Mary in the Marsh, Norwich, 19th October 1639, Alice
Corell.
Mentioned in Grandmother Joan's will, dated 1593, as having 10 years to go
before reaching 24. Own will Nfk Arch 1644 W56 (P Morgan) mentions same 7
acre close as did grandmother Joan in her will.
