  	Death of John Harris Addley: I think John originally joined the Royal Navy but in 1916 he was serving as a Lance Corporal in the 8th Batallion of the Buffs ( East Kent Regiment) when he was killed on 3/07/1916 aged 31. He is buried in Dranoutre Military Cemetery near Ypres in Belgium. He lived at 3 Cavendish Street in Ramsgate, Kent, and is remembered on the honours board in St George's parish church in Ramsgate.. Before the Great War: Before the war John used to work on the steamboats sailing between London and Ramsgate
