- Text of an advertisement reads:
MR HOWES respectfully acquaints the Gentry &c, of Waterford and its Vicinity, that he has opened a BOARDING and DAY CLASSICAL and COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENT in LADY LANE for the admission of YOUNG GENTLEMEN who will be instructed in every Brance of a Liberal Education. He has selected the best Plans to promote the Improvement of his Pupils and he considers the approbation which several of the Parents have kindly expressed, the best security he can offer, for the support which he solicits. He particularly directs the attention of Parents and Guardians to the excellent plan of the Monthly Examinations, as set forth in his Cards, and invites all such as would wish to be acquainted with its utility, and especially the Parents of his Pupils, to be present on the last Friday of each month. References can be given to some of the most respectable individuals of this City and prospectuses can be had, by applying to Mr H at his Establishment.
N.B. Mr H acknowledges with gratitude, the great Encouragement he has received in the kind and active exertions of his friends, and begs to assure them that nothing shall be left undone on his part to fulfil the highly favourable opinions they have entertained of him.
