    Will 16 Apr 1853
    • Executors: Charles Turk, saddler, son-in-law, and William Davis, land agent

Will mentions daughters Harriet and Charlotte and son Charles, but does not mention a son, John.
So it is by no means certain that John had a son or perhaps was certain that John would not live long

    Notes
    • IMPORTANT NOTE: we know that under his father's will in 1817, John Howes inherited a farm in Coln St Dennis, but there are no Millingtons in that place, EXCEPT the Millington Howeses. So, we have concluded that at some point over the succeeding years, John added a Howes to his surname. Just a guess at this point but it may be that he stood to inherit further from his wife's family.

In any event, we have decided to combine the John Howes Millingtons and John Howes Millington Howes records

It seems from the combined records of John and his children that his surname was Millington in 1812 and again in 1813 and 1815 on the baptism of his first two children, but that by 1823 he had changed his name to Howse/House.

Given the intermarriage between Millington and Howse/Howes clans the reconstruction of this family is proving extremely difficult! It hasn't helped that the ages of John and Ann are so far out in 1841 but the rest of the family details fit.
